Infant Care

The Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry advises that children should have their first dental visit with a general dentist no later than age one to enable preventive oral care to start in infancy. An infant dental check-up is simple, easy and effective. Babies and infants don’t have to sit on the dental chair, they can sit happily on a parent’s lap until they are confident enough to sit on their own. If required, they can be tipped back for a check-up then lifted up again for a cuddle.

If your general dentist feels that your child needs specialist care, we are happy to see children from birth for a variety of neonatal oral conditions, assess oral and facial growth and development, eruption of teeth and to provide early guidance on oral care and nutrition to minimise decay.
